starting the PhD – finding the literatures you need

There is no one way to find the literatures that you need to read. There are many different strategies to use. One that I find helpful is based around the questions that are generated from the topic that you are interested in.

I wrote about the questions approach to literature a long time ago but I thought it might be worth looking at again. To save this being a duplication of what I’ve said before, here are my writing course slides. These also give an example of how to construct a questions approach to finding what literatures you need. There are some search tips on the last slide.
